| Brief synopsis of activity | An activity aimed at raising awareness among secondary school teachers of green chemistry and its importance to industry and society, and to encourage them to introduce the concepts and practices of green chemistry into their everyday teaching activities. |
| Detailed description | This presentation was given at the Flemish congress of science teachers. It is aimed at improving the awareness of green chemistry and its importance in industry and society among secondary school science teachers, and to stimulate them to introduce concepts and practices of green chemistry in their everyday teaching activities. The presentation shows how concepts of green chemistry can be introduced via exercises primarily aiming at ‘traditional’ competences such as writing (redox) reaction equations and stoichiometric calculations as well as via experiments. |
