| Brief synopsis of activity | This two-week annual intensive programme aims at giving a multidisciplinary overview of renewable bioresources consisting of a series of class work, practical exercises and an examination. |
| Detailed description | This activity is a two-week intensive programme that takes place annually at a different location each year with students from across Europe and the US participating. The aim is to give the audience an overview of the primary bioresources, the transformation and processing and the conversion to market products. The curriculum involves a multi-disciplinary approach combining chemistry, biotechnology, life cycle analysis and energy and consists of a series of classwork, practical exercises and an examination. The outcomes of this activity include the publication of two books “Renewable Bioresources” and “Renewable Bio-Based Technology” together with CD-roms and power point presentations. Student and staff mobility has also been organised with 20 partner universities. |
