Background

Comenius is part of the new Lifelong Learning Programme (2007-2013) focusing on school education. The School Partnerships: Multilateral activity enables pupils, students and schools from across Europe to work together on joint projects on topics of mutual interest. Past projects have included ‘Alternative Energy’ and ‘The Environment’ (see http://www.globalgateway.org/default.aspx?page=3526 for case studies).

Who can apply?

Staff and students in nursery, primary, secondary, special schools, sixth form and further education colleges are eligible to apply.

What funding is available?

The previous call under the Lifelong Learning programme had a budget of EUR 784 million. Funding is awarded as a fixed lump sum amount, based on the number of mobilities (staff and/or pupils travelling to partner institutions).

How to apply?

A partnership must include at least three schools or colleges from at least three European countries. The next call is due to be published towards the end of 2007 with a likely deadline of 1st March 2008
